​Join FaithTech Toronto for an evening exploring the redemptive opportunities emerging with artificial intelligence and how we, as Christians, can thoughtfully engage with this rapidly evolving technology.

​Dr. Andrew Fountain will share his thoughts based on his own experiences in AI research, including his early work developing visual AI techniques, as well as his journey into Christian ministry.

​Through stories and insights from both worlds, we’ll explore the intersection of faith, technology, and AI, and consider the opportunities for Christians to help shape how these technologies are developed and used for good.

​About the Speaker

​Dr. Andrew Fountain is a pioneer in artificial intelligence, with a career spanning technology, research, and ministry. Long before the current AI boom, he developed visual AI techniques during his PhD studies at the University of Southampton and later worked in IBM’s R&D Special Products Division.

​After moving to Canada in 1991, Andrew felt called into ministry and went on to earn a Master of Divinity from Toronto Baptist Seminary. He is the founding pastor of New Life Toronto Church.

​Alongside his ministry work, Andrew has trained and consulted on web technologies for major organizations, including Dell, the Toronto Stock Exchange, and Rogers Communications. He is also the co-author of four books.

​Today, Andrew continues to pastor while researching the intersection of mental health and Christian theology.
