From Mediterranean summers to Marine Law, Margherita Pinardi has built a career around one powerful idea: nature should have rights of its own.
A childhood by the Mediterranean sparked Margherita's lifelong connection to the sea — one that led her into the law of the sea, proof that STEM isn't the only path into environmental work. After a master's exploring how legal ideas shape environmental protection and a UNEP internship on marine litter, she now works on treating oceans not as resources, but as right-bearing entities — with whales and Arctic research at the heart of it.
She joined The Earth Foundation to turn that research into real-world impact, working directly with the young people who'll carry it forward.
