​Artificial intelligence is already changing the way lawyers, businesses, and decision-makers work. But what happens when AI enters the arbitration process?

​This panel will bring together Seattle-area arbitrators and dispute-resolution professionals for a practical conversation about the future of AI in arbitration — including the provocative question of whether there could ever be an “AI arbitrator.”

​The discussion will explore how AI may affect arbitration in the near term, including case preparation, document review, procedural management, legal research, issue spotting, evidence organization, and settlement evaluation. Panelists will also consider the harder questions: Should AI ever assist with decision-making? What are the risks of bias, hallucination, confidentiality breaches, lack of transparency, or overreliance? How should arbitrators, counsel, and parties think about disclosure and consent when AI tools are used?

​Rather than predicting a fully automated future, this session will focus on the practical and ethical choices facing arbitration users now.
