Faster Than the Defenders: How AI Is Rewriting the Rules of Cyber Resilience
Cyberattacks are now run like businesses: stolen identities are bought and sold, attack capabilities are offered as a service, and AI models are finding and weaponizing software vulnerabilities faster than humans can patch them. In response, organizations are rethinking resilience from the ground up: assuming attackers are already inside, and building systems that detect, verify, and increasingly fix problems on their own. Drawing on experience leading the team at RBC that hunts for attackers and tests the bank's defences by emulating attackers, this talk explains that shift from the inside and asks what happens when the defence is faster than the people responsible for it. It closes with a practical question for anyone entering the field: as AI absorbs the routine work on both sides, what skills stay valuable, and what should you be learning now?
