One Industry, Two Paths: Career Stories and Practical Insights from the Finance Industry
What does a career in finance really look like — especially at the intersection of AI and technology? We want to answer these questions at Flow Forum #3 with two leaders from the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe. In a relaxed atmosphere, we want to discuss career paths, inclusion and allyship, and the impact of AI on the finance industry — and give students practical tips for applications, interviews, and early-career success. In this way, we hope to create personal connections and strengthen the long-term exchange between students and practitioners via the Flow Factory. We are delighted to co-host this evening together with Women+ in Information Systems.
Speakers: Doreen – Head of AI Strategy at Sparkassenverband Westfalen-Lippe, driving AI adoption across regional savings banks and contributor to the nationwide KISPA project. Jean-Philippe Tonyigah – Head of S-KIPilot at FI, driving GenAI in banking across the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe. Tech futurist with 5+ years of experience in innovation, emerging technologies, and user-centered solutions.
Doors open at 6:00 PM, and at 6:30 PM we kick off with a short welcome by the Flow Factory team. This is followed by a moderated dialogue (~40 min) led by Assistant Professor Fumi Kurihara, which also invites students to ask questions. After the official part, there will be time for networking over drinks and snacks. All genders welcome.

Wie sieht eine Karriere in der Finanzbranche wirklich aus — besonders an der Schnittstelle von KI und Technologie? Diese Fragen wollen wir im Rahmen des Flow Forum #3 mit zwei Führungskräften der Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe beantworten. In gemütlicher Atmosphäre wollen wir gemeinsam über Karrierewege, Inklusion und Allyship sowie die Auswirkungen von KI auf die Finanzbranche diskutieren und den Studierenden praktische Tipps für Bewerbungen, Vorstellungsgespräche und den Berufseinstieg geben. So möchten wir persönliche Anknüpfungspunkte schaffen und den langfristigen Austausch zwischen Studierenden und Praktiker*innen über die Flow Factory stärken. Wir freuen uns, den Abend gemeinsam mit Women+ in Information Systems ausrichten zu dürfen.
Speaker*innen: Doreen – Head of AI Strategy beim Sparkassenverband Westfalen-Lippe. Sie treibt die KI-Skalierung in den regionalen Sparkassen voran und ist Mitwirkende am bundesweiten KISPA-Projekt. Ab 18:00 Uhr heißen wir Euch herzlich willkommen und um 18:30 Uhr geht's los mit einer kurzen Begrüßung durch das Flow Factory Team. Anschließend folgt ein moderierter Dialog (~40 Min.), geleitet von Assistant Professor Fumi Kurihara, der auch die Studierenden einlädt, Fragen zu stellen. Im Anschluss an den offiziellen Teil wird es bei Getränken und Snacks Zeit zum Austauschen geben. Alle Geschlechter sind willkommen.
