Queer Birding at Lindo Lake
We'd love to invite you to celebrate Pride with us at Lindo Lake for a peaceful morning bird walk. Join us at one of the county's most beautiful parks where we'll see American Coots, Black Crowned Night Herons, Mallards, and hopefully lots more.
The event is totally free if you enter "0" at registration, but you can "pay-what-you-can" for your ticket and we will donate 100% of ticket sales to support the San Diego LGBT Community Center. With the money we raise, they can:
Provide safe, affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ youth and families
Deliver housing, health, and wellness services to those most in need
Ensure our Stonewall generation is never forgotten or left behind
Defend our community’s rights and access to care across San Diego
Lindo Lake is a leisurely walk around two small lakes. Wear closed toed shoes and sun protection, but don't worry about hiking gear. If you have binoculars, a scope, or a camera, bring them! Feel free to also bring field guides and/or your Merlin app :) After we walk, we'll relax and chat together at the park, so we encourage bringing your own drink and snack!
If you're brand new to birding, you're absolutely welcome to join. We'll walk in groups led by experienced birders and we'll be close enough to the lake to see birds even without pro gear.
Queer birders and allies are welcome, as always!
