Macc Tech: Fiction, Games, Audio Entwined
We’re back for 2026 with our first event at LOVELIVE in Macclesfield.
Join us for a series of talks and a chance to meet, mingle and share ideas, with refreshments provided.
Presentations:
Using Twine as an Educational Tool - Chris Godber
This talk explores how the interactive fiction engine Twine can be used to create narrative-driven games for learning. Chris will share examples of how he has used Twine in educational settings, discuss its benefits for teaching and engagement, and highlight some of his work extending the engine’s capabilities.
Why Owning Matters; multi-room audio and freedom - Tom Chiverton
It's not a recent trend that you can now stream everything from music to apps to training courses and feature films, instead of buying them. A newer trend is that even hardware you buy can now require ongoing payments, or it becomes a brick. Find out why and how owning your own media, and tools, allowed me to pull off a tiny hobby project that continues to save us hundreds of pounds!
