Private Equity Software Investing in the Age of AI

A fireside conversation on the future of SaaS investing — what AI changes, what it doesn't, and what it means for your clients' portfolios.

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Few sectors have been more scrutinized or more misunderstood in the wake of AI's rapid rise than enterprise software. The question of what happens to SaaS business models, valuations, and competitive moats when AI reshapes how software is built and consumed is one of the most consequential debates in private markets today.

In this instalment of the Obsiido's educational webinar series, Sean O'Hara, Obsiido CIO, is joined by special guest, Dr. Katherine Wiles, Director at Hg Capital, one of the world's leading technology-focused private equity firms and manager of Europe's largest software investment portfolio, for a candid, practitioner-led conversation on the state of private equity software investing in the age of AI.

This session is designed as a practical primer for wealth and investment professionals seeking to better understand how AI is reshaping the private equity software landscape , from deal sourcing and due diligence, to value creation and exit.

Topics we'll cover include:

  1. How leading PE firms are evaluating the AI threat and opportunity within their existing SaaS portfolios

  2. What makes a software business resilient, or vulnerable, to AI disruption

  3. Why the shift from traditional SAAS pricing models may represent the most significant structural change in a generation

  4. How AI is being deployed inside portfolio companies to accelerate growth and operational efficiency

  5. The evolving M&A landscape: what buyers and sellers are prioritizing in software deals today

  6. Implications for private wealth allocators building private markets exposure through software-focused strategies

Format: A 60-minute live fireside Q&A. Moderated by the Obsiido CIO, Sean O'Hara. Audience questions welcomed.

Who should attend:

Financial advisors, portfolio managers, wealth professionals, and investment consultants with an interest in private equity and alternative investments.
