Atlanta has built a strong ecosystem for helping entrepreneurs launch and grow, but the supply of informed local investors has not kept pace. The result is a persistent capital gap: promising founders struggle to raise the money they need, grow more slowly than they should, or never reach their full potential.

This event brings together panel of successful private investors and entrepreneurs who have experienced the capital-raising challenge firsthand. They will discuss what makes investing in entrepreneurs different, why raising capital remains so difficult—even in a thriving business community—and how more Atlantans can discover whether crowdfund and angel investing belongs in their wealth-building strategy.

Karen Rands and her community partners, The Urban League of Greater Atlanta and The Atlanta Black Chambers will introduce The Community Capital Blueprint—a practical framework for activating more informed investors, expanding access to entrepreneurial capital, and creating a more balanced and prosperous local ecosystem.

This is an information and discovery session—not a pitch event. It is designed for professionals, business owners, community leaders, aspiring investors, and anyone curious about how we solve the capital gap for Atlanta's tech startups and emerging growth private companies.

The same program is offered twice on Tuesday, August 11, Morning and Afternoon, to provide both morning and afternoon attendance options.

Hosted by:
Compassionate Capitalist Movement
An initiative spearheaded by Karen Rands and Kugarand Capital Holdings, LLC

Then distinguish the other roles:

  • HUMERGY: Premier sponsor

  • Urban League of Greater Atlanta and Atlanta Black Chambers: Collaborating partners

  • The Community Capital Blueprint: The framework being introduced

  • The Compassionalist Academy: The investor education and activation resource—not the event host

This event is a part of #ATLTechWeek - a week of events hosted by builders, VCs, and startups to showcase Atlanta as a global innovation hub.

We must also credit Atlanta Tech Week for being a catalyst for the growth of the momentum behind The Community Capital Blueprint. Karen Rands, the visionary behind the Blueprint, had been circulating a discovery document exploring the challenges and opportunity to activate more capital for the qualified startups and growing companies.

Much to her Karen's surprise, attendees of the 2025 ATLTechWeek started coming up to discuss because of the growing acknowledgement that Atlanta didn't have an entrepreneur problem, it had a chronic lack of capital problem.

Let's solve it together.
