"Books That Go Bump in the Night" - Seasonal Halloween Theme with Harlem Book Co. Book Fair! Reading Rhythms Upper West Side: October 19th

​You’re invited!

​If you're itching for some frights and fiction, some chills and thrillers, or maybe even a little true crime nonfiction... tonight is the night for you! At our themed event, "Books That Go Bump in the Night," we are celebrating all things spooky season! If you feel so inclined, feel free to follow the optional theme and bring a book that represents Halloween spirit to you! Be that a horror book, a Halloween-themed rom-com, a witchy fantasy, a history of samhain, or more! Feel free to wear a costume to commemorate the occasion, as well!

​Our all hallows event will be made even more exceptional by the presence of our friends, the Harlem Book Company, who will be bringing their book store front right to us! Harlem Book Co. will be bringing a specially curated selection of books that will be for sale during the reading party. Feel free to give it a peruse, make a purchase for reading for the evening, or give them a shout out and a high five!

​Hex & Co. UWS gives us full domain of their spacious back room, but one must ascend 3 steps to get up to the space. Hex & Co. has food and beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, all available at their front bar. The food and drink options are not included with your Reading Rhythms ticket and must be purchased separately. There is free water available at the bar, as well.

​"Doors" for our reading party open at 6:30pm, with official proceedings beginning a few minutes before 7:00pm, and concluding at 9:00pm.

​Reading Rhythms is a series of welcoming reading parties designed to make it easy for people to gather and read socially. We invite you to bring any book you want and facilitate silent reading periods, as well as 1-on-1 breakouts, and group discussions to pull on the threads of the books that everyone is engaging with.

​In a world that can often feel devoid of interest and meaningful connection, we bring readers together to reconnect with our love of learning, to experience the wonder of beautiful venues and curated music, and to gather amongst all of the people who want to be in that very same room.
