Reconciliation in Canada & the U.S.
On June 10th, Northeastern University Vancouver has the distinct honour of convening an important panel discussion on Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples in Canada and the U.S.
The conversation will be facilitated by Jessica Wood, who recently became the first Indigenous Person to serve as Deputy Minister in the Province of British Columbia. She will be joined by Ken Watts, Elected Chief Councillor of Tseshaht First Nation, and U.S Representative Sharice Davids (joining virtually), one of the first two Native American women to serve in Congress. Together, they will explore important themes related to reconciliation, including cultural revitalization, education, community building, allyship, and more.
This is a rare opportunity to gain perspectives from three leaders from multiple jurisdictions on such an important topic. Each of our esteemed speakers is leading reconciliation efforts within and outside governments through direct participation, economic development, and transforming legislation.
We hope you can join us for this important event. Space is limited.
