Paint Yourself Calm: An Intro Watercolor Workshop for Design Leaders

​We spend our days in software, in crits, making decisions. This is the opposite of that.

​Spend an afternoon outdoors in a park in San Francisco learning to see and paint mushrooms, with nothing to optimize and the joy of getting into flow. Just your hand, a brush, and permission to be a beginner again.

​It’s a chance to decompress after work, express your creativity and connect with 10 other design leaders over paint, conversation, and a little time away from screens.

​About Leslie Yang

​Leslie is a design leader at Lyft and a watercolor painter who believes the best leadership requires both deep thinking and time spent away from the screen. Her work in product design is rooted in navigating complexity, bringing people together, and imagining what’s possible; her watercolor practice gives her a different way to observe, experiment, and focus. She is a strong believer in balancing the intensely indoor, cerebral work of leadership with an outdoor art practice—walking, looking closely at the natural world, and making things with her hands. For Leslie, the two practices continually inform each other: painting keeps her curious and present, while design leadership offers new ways to think about creativity, systems, and people.
