About Event

Join YPE DC and The Catholic University for a tour of their solar array!☀️ The Catholic University of America's West Campus Solar Array is a 7.5-megawatt ground-mounted community solar project and the largest urban solar array of its kind in the Washington, D.C. region.

Join us for a guided tour of the array as a casual way to meet other members of YPE DC. ⚡

✅What to expect: Attendees will sign a liability waiver when they arrive. Attendees must wear closed toe shoes, and the terrain is rocky and uneven in some places. The tour will be entirely outside and will last approximately 1 hour. Please make sure everyone dresses for the weather and brings water / snacks if needed.

RAIN DATE: Rain date will be Oct. 15th at 5 PM (slightly earlier to ensure we're out by sunset). We will reschedule if there is any forecast of rain as it is not safe to be onsite in the rain.

We will meet at the entrance gate just north of 3750 Harewood Road NE. There is limited street parking available on Harewood Road and the closest metro stop/bus bay is Brookland / CUA on the red line. From the metro station, visitors should take the left entrance towards Catholic University, walk west along Michigan Avenue towards Harewood Rd NE, and turn right (north) onto Harewood.
