Offline hours: a silent reading social.
Welcome to our very first Njikọta gathering: Offline Hours: A Silent Reading Social.
For the first part of our time together, we’ll put our phones away in a secure box provided by our host. If you’d rather keep yours with you, that’s absolutely fine too; simply switch it off or put it away in your bag.
We’ll spend the first hour reading in silence, followed by 45 minutes to an hour of book talk, conversations, and relaxed chit-chat. Share what you’re reading, hear about someone else’s book, or simply enjoy being around others.
There is no pressure to speak, no awkward introductions, and no expectations. You’re welcome to join the conversation or just sit back and listen.
A little note before you RSVP:
Bring a physical book; whatever you’re currently reading or have been meaning to pick up.
Limited spots available: Please RSVP only if you’re confident you can make it. If your plans change, kindly cancel your spot so someone else can join.
Free to attend: We’re lucky to have our lovely host café providing us with a space for free, so we ask each guest to purchase at least one coffee or other drink to support them.
Put the phone down, babe. See you soon. 🤎
