

Bringing Safeguards to Life in Carbon Markets
What does high social integrity require in practice? This panel will focus on actionable strategies for bringing safeguards to life on the ground. We will hear from grassroots advocates and project developers about their firsthand experience negotiating agreements for carbon projects. Panelists will reflect on what it takes to respect the right to free, prior, and informed consent and share approaches to co-designing benefit-sharing agreements with communities. Building on these insights, we will identify concrete steps that project developers, carbon standards, and buyers can take to ensure community rights are protected in practice.
