About Event

After eight months of Sensual Embodied Dance facilitation training with Holly Wodetzki, this class is my final practicum, the last step before I become a certified Sensual Embodied Dance® facilitator, and I'd love you to be there for my graduation!

What is Sensual Embodied Dance?

Sensual Embodied Dance is a movement practice to get in touch with your own body, your own aliveness, exploring how you want to move, exploring your own sensuality. No experience required, there is no choreography, no need to perform anything, nothing to get right, and no mirrors on the wall. Just exploration!

The methodology was created by Holly Wodetzki in Australia and is really playful. We get to go outside of our minds and go into our bodies, unwinding our tension patterns, create flow, and wake the senses back up.

It's grounded in neuroscience as much as in dance. It's trauma-informed. And it is really fun, especially in a group of amazing women!

What to expect

We move through a full flow together in 90 minutes:

Arriving & warming up: Some easy guided movement to quiet the mind, release tension and start feeling what's actually present in your body today.

Guided dance sequences: Holly's signature sequences, designed to awaken sensual energy and expand your capacity for pleasure. I guide, you follow with what feels good in your body. No pressure, no corrections, no ways to do it right, just to feel!

Group exploration: Some solo work, some optional work in pairs, exploring connection, expression and being witnessed. You can always opt out of everything!

Being danced: The part where the dance starts moving you, just going with the flow!

Integration: Rest, the most important bit. Because change happens in the nervous system during deep rest, not during peak moments, so we close slowly.

You'll leave warm, loose, and probably a bit glowing!

The recording (please read this part)

Because this is my final exam, the class will be filmed and submitted to Holly and her assessment team. The camera is on me, as I'm the one being assessed, but you may appear in the frame. The footage is for private assessment only and will not be published or shared anywhere.

If you'd rather not be filmed at all, I'd genuinely rather you come to something else than be uncomfortable. Two options:

FAQs

Do I need dance experience?
None. Truly. There's no choreography, if you can move, you can do this. And you can always adapt the movements as well as the intensity of the movements, so that they feel good in your body. That’s what matters here.

Is this sexual?
No, sensual and sexual aren't the same thing. Sensual refers to your senses, how things feel in your body. This is about your relationship with yourself, not about seduction, and not for anyone else's eyes.

Who's it for?
Women, all ages, all bodies, all levels. Come as you are!

Will I have to touch anyone?
There is some optional partner work involving touch. Optional means optional. You'll always be told what's coming before it happens, you can decline any exercise at any moment without explaining yourself, and sitting one out is completely normal in this practice, nobody will look at you funny. In fact, I love it when people feel their boundaries and decide to witness instead, what is very welcome!

Can I come alone?
Yes, absolutely! Most people don’t know anyone else when they first join. You'll be met warmly! And there's something about moving alongside women you've never met that makes it easier, not harder!

What do I wear?
Whatever lets you move and makes you feel good in your skin. Layers are smart, you'll warm up fast. We dance barefoot or in socks.

What if I feel emotional?
Emotions come up in this work, and that's not a problem to be fixed, we’re here to feel it all, and it’s an important part of this class! You're welcome to feel whatever arrives. I'm trained to hold that, and you'll never be pushed further than you want to go.

What language?
This class is in English. From November, the regular classes will be bilingual in English and French.

How long is it?
90 minutes, from 19:00 - 20:30. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early, as the class starts at 19:00.

What if I'm running late?

Our doors close at 19:00 and we unfortunately can't let anyone in after that. Not to be strict for the sake of it, but because an interruption in the middle of this work breaks the container for everyone in the room.

What should I bring?
Water, and something warm (like a sweater) for the integration at the end.

How do I book?
Claim your spot right here! The class is free, but the spots are limited. If something comes up and you can't make it, just release your spot so someone else can take it. This one counts towards my graduation, so a full room means a lot to me. Thank you!

This has been eight months in the making. It would mean a lot to dance it with you!
