​For this edition of Read in the Park, we’re teaming up with SF Book Besties for an afternoon of silent reading, book conversations, and meeting fellow readers in San Francisco.

​Read in the Park is a community of readers who meet twice a month to read together, talk about books, and meet other readers.

​For this event, we’re trying a new park and meeting at Lafayette Park.

​📚 How our events go
Bring whatever you’re currently reading. We’ll spend the first part of the afternoon reading our own books together, then break into small groups to talk about what we’re reading, swap recommendations, and get to know the people around us.

​There’s no assigned book and no book-club homework. Physical books, Kindles, and audiobooks are all welcome.

​Come solo or bring a friend. Plenty of people show up alone.

​📚 How the afternoon goes
2:00–2:30 pm → Arrive, check in, find a spot, and settle in
2:00–3:30 pm → Reading time
3:30–4:30 pm → Small-group conversations, book recommendations + getting to know each other

​There won’t be a café hour after this event, so we’ll wrap up together at the park around 4:30 pm.

​📚 Registration + bringing a friend

​One registration is for one person only. If you’re bringing a friend, please send them the event link so they can register for their own spot before coming.

​Our events often have a waitlist, and we plan the number of hosts and conversation moderators based on registrations. Having an accurate headcount helps us make sure everyone gets the experience we planned for.

​If the event is full, please don’t bring an unregistered guest.

And if your plans change, please update your RSVP so we can offer your spot to someone waiting to join.

​📚 What to bring
→ Your current read (physical book, Kindle, or audiobook)
→ A blanket or something to sit on
→ A jacket - the park gets windy
→ A snack or drink if you'd like

​📚 Getting there
Park is busy on weekends. If you're driving, aim to arrive a bit earlier with enough time to find parking.

We’ll share the exact meeting spot / Google Maps pin with registered attendees before the event. Look out for the Read in the Park sign when you arrive.

​📚 A note on photos
We may take a few photos and short clips for social. By attending you consent to being photographed but if you'd rather not be, just let us know when you arrive and we'll keep you out of frame.
