Craft Club: Lantern Découpage
This month, we’re trading metal for paper and spending an evening with glue, color, and the very satisfying business of covering things in tiny scraps.
Using colorful tissue and rice papers, we’ll explore the basics of decoupage and build up layers of pattern, texture, and color on paper lanterns. Tear it, cut it, overlap it, keep it simple, make it wildly busy. There are very few wrong turns here.
You’ll learn how to work with delicate papers, apply them smoothly, and layer different colors and patterns without turning the whole thing into a soggy little moon. We’ll have plenty of inspiration to get you started, but there’s lots of room to follow whatever combination catches your eye.
By the end of the night, you’ll head home with a finished lantern ready to glow.
No experience needed. We’ll guide you through the whole process.
Process over perfection, always.
