General Seminar Strategy is Science Fiction
General Seminar S07 / E02
Most “AI strategy” still treats AI like a capability to acquire and govern.
But at scale, AI isn’t just a tool you deploy — it becomes a medium that quietly resets what counts as evidence, who gets authority, how decisions get made, and how work coordinates.
Imagine your organization's near future world
AI is now ambient in the future or your organization. It’s as normal as butter on toast. It’s in planning, research, marcom, product, analytics, hiring, swag, and customer interactions. Nobody debates ‘should we use AI’ anymore. That'd be like debating whether we should use a keyboard to type.
The question is: what kind of organization did that create? What kind of organization do you want it to create? (Despite what you do or not believe about what Sam, Elon, and Dario say you should believe about the AI future.)
In this 90-minute session we’ll treat strategy as science fiction: you’ll break into small groups, jump 18 months forward into an organization where AI is ambient, and bring back artifacts (memos, checklists, dashboards, job posts, cereal boxes, corporate swag, convenience store crap, greeting cards, prompt trading cards, etc.) that make the new defaults visible, make new options and inhabitable terrains legible, and learn how to strategically imagine possibility using Design Fiction.
No hype. No doom. Just a practical way to design your organization’s relationship to AI...before the relationship designs you.
