Masterclass #3: Rapid Prototyping with AI
Stop prototyping features. Start prototyping products.
Prototyping has levels now, and most designers stop at the first one.
In this live 2-hour online masterclass, we climb all three: from a single screen produced by one prompt, to a whole multi-screen product with real states on a live link, to that same product in your own design system.
No Figma or coding required.
From a Screen to a Product
You can ask AI for a screen, and it will give you one. That's the first level, and it's where almost everyone stops.
But a screen can only tell you whether a layout holds.
It can't tell you whether the product makes sense. Whether the flow survives five screens. What the interface does when the list is empty, when the filter matches nothing, or when the request fails.
Those are the questions your stakeholders ask, and they're the ones a mockup has always faked.
During the masterclass, we'll move through all three levels of prototyping and build a whole product live, starting from an empty folder:
5 screens → routing → realistic demo data → 5 real interface states → a live link anyone can open on their phone
Nothing is a slide of something that was never run.
The Real Difference Isn't Prompting Faster
What decides how far you get isn't how quickly you type prompts. It's the context you prepare before the first one.
We'll break down the four small files that need to exist before a prototype repository is worth starting: what goes into them, who creates them, and why about an hour of preparation can be the difference between a prototype that still holds together at screen twenty and one that can't even be recolored consistently.
What You'll Learn
A map of which level of prototype answers which question, and which questions no prototype answers
The four files that must exist before a prototype repository is worth starting, and who writes each one
The prompt sequence that produces a plan you argue with before any code exists
How to get five real interface states instead of one happy path
Why demo data is a feature, and what happens to a demo without it
Six ways this method fails in practice, with the cure for each, and honesty about the two that have none
Where AI Prototyping Breaks
A full section of the masterclass is dedicated to the ways this workflow fails in practice:
The design system drifts. The agent copies appearance instead of rules. The demo looks complete while nothing actually sits under the button. The stakeholder leaves the room believing the product is finished.
Some of these problems can be fixed. Others are limitations of the method itself.
A masterclass that shows only the upside is a sales pitch, not a method.
Who It's For
Product, UX, and UI designers who hand off mockups and want to validate a product before it gets built
Design leads deciding whether their team should work this way at all
Designers who already tried "make me a screen" and hit the wall on the second screen
Who It's Not For
This masterclass is not a coding course or an engineering workshop. You won't write code or build a production-ready application.
It stays above the code, focusing on using AI to prototype and validate product ideas.
Format
Live online demonstration · 2 hours including Q&A
You watch a product get built live. No exercises, no audience tasks, and nothing to install beforehand.
Prerequisites: None. Coding knowledge is not required.
Masterclasses 1 and 2 are related, but they are not prerequisites.
What You Receive
Masterclass recording
Starter repository
Prompt set
Written deep-dive appendix
Part of the 5D Global AI Masterclass Series
Masterclasses 1 and 2 are where a design system in code gets built.
This Masterclass 3 shows what that enables, but it stands on its own without previous masterclasses. This one goes deep on a single road and finishes it.
Masterclass 4 covers the whole design pipeline in breadth.
Meet your hosts:
Aleh Mikalaichyk, Head of Design and Strategy
I'm a Product Designer with 15+ years of experience designing complex digital products and scalable design systems.
Today, I build and maintain production-ready design systems directly in code, using AI to transform design into reusable, implementation-ready components. I work alongside frontend engineers, continuously evolve design system workflows, and apply the same approach to both commercial products and my own AI-driven projects.
Polina Tarnopolsky, Head of Product Innovation
I bring 25+ years of experience in product innovation, strategy, and full-stack product design, helping Fortune 500 companies, startups, and government organizations transform ideas into market-ready products. My expertise spans the full product lifecycle, from concept and commercialization to DesignOps and scaling high-performing design organizations. I have led initiatives across AI, healthcare, finance, enterprise software, and emerging technologies. I'm also a founder of 5D Global, a Product Innovation Company.
As AI changes how quickly we can prototype, the real skill is knowing what to prototype, what to validate, and where the limits are.
