Hide And Seek and Silent Disco and A Comedy Show?! at Bessarion Station
🤫 The Bessarion Liminal Space Tribute: Hide & Seek + Silent Disco+ Comedy show
Welcome to the least-used station in Toronto for a high-stakes afternoon of "Subtle Commuting." We are paying tribute to the king of quiet—Bessarion Station—with a two-part event designed to blend into the tiled walls and clinical silence.
📜 The Itinerary
• 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM: The Stealth Commuter (Hide & Seek)
This isn’t your childhood hide and seek. To keep things legal and non-disruptive, we are playing "Professional Hiding." Your goal is to blend into the Passing artwork or look so much like a tired traveler that the Seekers walk right past you. Rule #1: Never cross the yellow line. Rule #2: If a train arrives, you must look like a normal passenger.
• 2:30 PM – 3:15PM: The "Socially Distanced" Silent Disco
We’re continuing the afternoon with a collective, silent groove. We’ll be using a synced Spotify Jam so we’re all hearing the same beat while maintaining a respectful "one-pillar-apart" distance.
3:15-4:00: Comedy Show
THE GHOST SHOW (Guerrilla Comedy):
And finally we are ending the day by do something no one has ever done at Bessarion; a comedy show!
Location: The Concrete Plaza outside Bessarion Station (Sheppard Ave E Entrance)
To keep it "Bessarion-quiet," our comedians will be performing Unplugged & Raw. No mics, no stages—just pure storytelling on the sidewalk. Featuring some of Toronto’s finest standup comedians. Guests TBA.
🛠️ What You Need to Bring
• Earbuds/Headphones: Required for the Silent Disco portion.
• A Loaded PRESTO Card: You must pay your fare to enter the station. This ensures we are valid passengers and staying on the right side of the TTC bylaws.
• The Dress Code: "Aggressively Normal." Wear your everyday jacket or hoodie. We want to look like 20 people who just happen to be waiting for the same very, very late train.
⚠️ Important Safety & Legal Note
This is a peaceful, non-disruptive tribute. We will not be using speakers, blocking escalators, or running on the platforms. If TTC staff ask what we’re doing, we are simply "a group of friends appreciating the architecture and waiting for a connection."
Let’s keep Bessarion weird (and quiet). See you on the platform
