Every day you're being persuaded — by images, headlines, and algorithms — and most of the time, you don't notice. That's exactly what Dr. Leslie Hahner studies.
A Baylor professor whose research on propaganda and visual persuasion has landed her in The Atlantic, BBC World News, and TEDx, Dr. Hahner specializes in how rhetoric shapes public opinion and how ordinary people get moved without realizing it.
In one lecture, she'll take us from WWII posters and Cold War messaging all the way through the memes, algorithms, and AI-generated content reshaping how we think today. How did the mechanics of persuasion evolve? What stayed the same? And what does it mean for how you consume information right now?
Whether you want to understand history or decode the present, you'll walk away sharper about the forces shaping what you think — and better at spotting them in the wild.
