Manus Fellow Event|AI Vibecoding Challenge — Ethical AI for Community Impact
Hosted by Manus Fellow Lester Chan (London + KL)
Can you build a real app — without writing a single line of code?
That's exactly what students will do at the AI Vibecoding Challenge, a hands-on afternoon event where primary and secondary school students from Catholic Diocese schools across Hong Kong come together to build working applications using nothing but natural-language prompts and AI.
No coding experience needed. Just ideas, curiosity, and a willingness to create.
What's happening
Teams of students will tackle a single brief: "Ethical AI for Community Impact." Each team picks a real community problem — and uses an AI agent to build a working solution around it. The AI does the technical lifting. The students bring the thinking, the empathy, and the creativity.
The afternoon runs in two parts:
Warm-up build — a guided session to get everyone comfortable with prompting and the platform before the clock starts
Build sprint — teams go heads-down, mentors circulate, and working prototypes take shape in real time
The day closes with a showcase and judging panel, where teams present what they built and why it matters.
Who is this for
Primary and secondary school students from schools in Hong Kong. No prior coding or AI experience required — this event is specifically designed for first-timers.
Why it matters
AI isn't just for engineers anymore. The ability to direct an AI agent — to describe what you want clearly, think critically about the output, and build something useful — is fast becoming one of the most important skills a young person can have.
This event gives students their first real taste of that. Not a demo. Not a lecture. An actual build, with real tools, on a real problem.
Organised by
GBAITA in partnership with Aberdeen Lions Club, HKCT, Conjecture Ventures, and Manus Fellow as technology partner.
The event is hosted at the HKCT Jockey Club Campus, Ma On Shan.
Note: Please bring your laptop!
Powered by Manus AI
Every student team will build on Manus AI — an agentic AI platform that turns natural-language instructions into working applications. Manus handles the code. Students handle the vision.
What is Manus?
Manus is the world’s first general AI agent designed to turn your thoughts into action. More than just a chatbot, Manus autonomously executes complex tasks across your professional and personal life - whether it’s conducting deep market research, processing batches of files, planning custom travel, or analyzing data.
It thinks independently, plans strategically, and leverages tools within its own environment - coding, browsing the web, controlling applications - to deliver complete outcomes, not just recommendations.
You can hand off tasks to Manus, track progress in real time, and return to find the results ready - so you can focus on what truly matters.
Why Manus?
The name “Manus” is inspired by MIT’s motto Mens et Manus - “Mind and Hand.” It reflects the belief that knowledge must be applied to create real-world impact.
That’s the promise of Manus AI: to extend your capabilities, amplify your output, and serve as the intelligent hand that brings your ideas to life.
