Pls join Blackbird Alliance for our next Soar and Story book club meeting! As we head into the fall, September's pick will take us into the world of politics. You don't have to follow politics—or even like talking about it—to join us. This isn't about debating parties or candidates; it's about exploring ideas, hearing different perspectives, and having a good conversation.
Our next read will be The Sum of Us, the first book published by Chicago policy expert Heather McGhee. The Sum of Us explores how racism has imposed economic and social costs on everyone—not just communities of color—and argues that we all benefit when we invest in one another.
As always, feel free to bring a friend or ally who enjoys great conversation, fellowship and a glass of wine!
