Health AI Forum: When AI Amplifies Health Bias
You're invited to the Health AI Forum
Join the Health AI Forum, an initiative by Global Shapers Berlin Hub, for an evening dedicated to one of the most pressing questions in AI-driven healthcare: what happens when algorithms inherit our biases?
AI in health is already reshaping diagnostics, treatment decisions, and resource allocation. But the data it learns from, and the systems it is built into, often reflect long-standing inequalities. Gender, age, race, socioeconomic status, and access to care are not just background variables. They are fault lines that AI can silently deepen. This evening, we bring together patients, clinicians, researchers, and people with lived experience to examine these fault lines together and ask what responsible, equitable AI in healthcare actually requires.
The Health AI Forum is built on the belief that AI in health is not only a technological topic but a societal one, and that patient and public interest must remain at the center.
Date: 07 October 2026
Time: 19:00 to 22:00
Location: Berlin (venue shared to confirmed participants)
The format
Part 1: Roundtables (7 to 8pm)
Five parallel roundtables will explore a distinct dimension of bias in health AI. You will have the chance to go deep on one topic with a small group and surface the questions, concerns, and insights that matter most to you.
No prior expertise is needed to join a roundtable. Everyone is welcome. You can indicate your preference for a table topic in the registration. However, we cannot guarantee that you will be assigned to that table.
Part 2: Shared Insights and Open Discussion (8 to 9pm)
After the roundtables, we come back together as a full group and are joined by topic experts. Each table will briefly share its key findings and questions, and we open the floor for a collective conversation on what we have learned. What patterns emerged across the different biases? Where do they intersect? And what would it take to build health AI that genuinely serves everyone?
Part 2: Open Networking (9 to 10pm)
