Field Notes 09: Move, A Rhythm Study

​Field Notes 09 is our latest installment of a vinyl listening series led by industry selectors and their approach to record curation.

​Our selector for this ninth session is Max Kulchinsky, a New York City-based interdisciplinary artist working across painting, sound, and social practice, exploring memory, rhythm, and collective experience through fragmented figures, gesture, and participatory projects. He is the founder of Atune, an ongoing listening project that reimagines album listening as a communal ritual of deep listening, conversation, and shared attention.

​This session traces the progression of rhythm through the eras of dance music — from funk to disco to hip hop to house — examining how the groove stays universal even as it transforms.

​Tickets are limited as the program will be intimate. Car Part Time members will receive a code for complimentary tickets.

​Doors close promptly at 7:00 PM and the listening session will begin immediately. Out of respect for the experience and fellow guests, we ask that conversation be kept to a minimum during the listening portion of the program.

​Following the session, the space will open up for conversation and connection as guests are invited to explore a selection of themed cars, spend time throughout the showroom and garage, and enjoy the atmosphere while the selector continues spinning into the evening.
