Make Your Own Knitted Coffee Cozy at 20g
Come spend an afternoon making something with your hands.
In this beginner-friendly workshop at 20g Coffee in Koreatown, you’ll make your own knitted coffee cozy with a carry handle, choose your colors, add beads or small decorative details, and leave with a finished piece you can actually use.
You do not need to know how to knit. I’ll show you everything step by step, from the first stitch to finishing the handle.
This is a small workshop. There will be time to make, ask questions, drink coffee, talk, and not rush.
What you’ll make
You’ll leave with one finished knitted coffee cozy with a carry handle, made in the colors and details you choose.
All yarn, beads, decorative materials, knitting needles and tools are provided. Needles and shared tools stay at the workshop. Everything you use in your finished piece goes home with you.
About the Designer
I’m Yingdi, a Los Angeles based knitwear designer. I studied textile design at Central Saint Martins and Fashion Design & Society at Parsons, and presented my graduate collection during New York Fashion Week.
My work is very material driven. I like color, strange textures, hand techniques, crochet, knitting, and figuring things out directly with yarn in my hands.
My work has been featured in Vogue, Forbes, Fashionista and PhotoBook Magazine, and I was a finalist for the CFDA Geoffrey Beene Design Masters Scholar Award. I’ve also worked with Proenza Schouler.
For this workshop, none of that means you need to know anything before you come. Beginners are very welcome.
