Roundtable: AI Ethics & Law Current Events
Meetup brief: Acceleration of AI adoption since 2023 has functionally changed countries' relationships with automation, motivating changing policy positions worldwide. In this attendance-restricted event, a curated group of local legal and technology professionals will lightning-debate several current events in AI ethics and law with a total of twenty debate prompts. Expect up to 45 minutes of discussion and at least 75 minutes of total networking.
Topics: (1) Current legal framework for AI misuse. (2) Chevron doctrine & AI industry. (3) Japanese copyright law. (4) Superintelligent misinformation. (5) AI carbon output. (6) AI Research Restrictions. (7) Open source AI restrictions.
Roundtable speaker rules: 30-45 minutes. Concise arguments. 3-4 voluntary arguments from roundtable participants per question. Moderator reserves the right to balance respondents if a panelist's speaking time exceeds 35%. If the roundtable is large enough, the moderator will moderate only and not provide arguments.
All participant rules: Assume good intent of all speakers. Smart casual or business casual dress code. No audio or video recording. No quote mining panelists. No identifying photos without permission.
