This month we're joined by one of Portugal's most formidable builders.
Chitra Stern has spent two decades turning vision into reality — from the cliffs of Sagres to the classrooms of Lisbon. Founder of the Martinhal hospitality brand and United Lisbon International School, Chitra has developed over €450m in hospitality, residential, commercial and education real estate in Portugal.

A mother of four, Chitra built Martinhal with a radical idea: that luxury travel and family life shouldn't have to compete. The brand has welcomed thousands of guests and transformed the tourism landscape of the entire Sagres region.
But she didn't stop there. When she identified that a lack of international school places was blocking foreign investment in Portugal, she didn't write a report — she opened a school. United Lisbon International School launched in September 2020 and now serves 620+ students from 50+ nationalities. In 2017, she was invited to join a special task force on foreign direct investment by the office of Portugal's Prime Minister.
A two-time TEDx speaker, Chitra joins us to speak about the courage to be visible — sharing how she prepared herself, stood in her power, and remained confident and authentic in her own skin throughout her inspiring journey.
