EDS - Vibe Coding: From Prompt to Production
🎤 Presentation: Vibe Coding - From Prompt to Production
AI agents can now plan, write, test and publish working software from a plain-language description. “Vibe coding,” Collins Dictionary’s 2025 Word of the Year, has gone from novelty to everyday practice, yet adoption has outpaced trust: developers use AI more each year while believing its output less.
This session explains what vibe coding is and how coding agents actually work, from the plan, act and verify loop to the harness of context, tools and guardrails that surrounds the model. It compares two leading tools, Claude Code and Replit, and introduces a layered approach in which Claude orchestrates Replit through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), pairing spec-driven development with built-in hosting.
Drawing on two real public-sector builds, a vibe-coded AI intake prototype and a production three-agent privacy-review platform, Connor shares the practices, limitations and guardrails that separate a working build from a pile of generated code.
👤 About the Speaker: Connor Guy, CBA, CDMP
Connor Guy is a Senior Consultant in KPMG’s Digital Government Solutions practice, where he designs and builds AI solutions for public- and private-sector clients. His work sits where business analysis, data and AI architecture meet: turning complex processes and regulatory requirements into agentic systems that people can trust.
Recent work includes helping architect a production multi-agent AI platform for a provincial health privacy office, vibe-coding an AI-enabled intake and prioritization prototype for a provincial health authority, and designing an enterprise AI Management Platform architecture for a North American energy distributor. Connor builds with Claude Code, Replit and the Microsoft data and AI stack, and is based in St. Albert, Alberta.
