3RD ST CREATIVE ARTERY is thrilled to be hosting this unique, one night only performance featuring two acclaimed artists who have roots in the southeast side of San Francisco—DON PAUL & RICHARD HOWELL.
DON PAUL is an accomplished multi-genre singer-songwriter, producer, poet, and social activist recognized for fusing a free-jazz aesthetic with political, populist poetry, collaborating alongside notable jazz greats and performing spoken-word pieces with musical backing. RICHARD HOWELL is an acclaimed jazz saxophonist, composer, producer, and educator known for his soulful, expressive playing and multicultural musical philosophy.

This is a benefit for 3RD ST CREATIVE ARTERY.

• 6:30 - 7 pm
Social hour to view the current exhibit—ADRIFT. AFLOAT. DRY-DOCKED—see the existence of the creative community IRL, and have a beer from Standard Deviant.
• 7 pm - 8:40-ish pm
Performance will be 2 40-minute sets, with a short break in between.
Set 1: Women with Big Hands (Round World)
Set 2: Homecoming (The BayView, The Fillmore, and on…)
• 8:40-ish pm - 9:00 pm
Patrons are invited to linger to connect with other attendees, artists, and creatives.

This is the latest installment of 3RD ST CREATIVE ARTERY’s series called HEAR, HERE! Attentive listening is an exchange that requires intentionally making space to make it possible. For this series, we turn the viewing deck into an experimental listening room, with sounds, performances, readings, and music…and build community in the process.
The intention of these gatherings is to amplify the efforts and outputs of artists, creators, makers, movers, and shakers that have a connection to 3RD ST and to create opportunities to gather in the name of creativity and community.

NOTE: This is a benefit for 3RD ST CREATIVE ARTERY. Half of the tickets proceeds will go towards ongoing operational costs and expenses; the other half to the artists.
