Olito Social Club: Imagined Worlds & Making Them Real

​Think Olio is an ongoing experiment in lifelong learning. We are a community of open-minded people who gather to exchange ideas with new friends and connect over art, literature, and philosophy.

​Olito is the Thursday night social club born out of our community, giving us a place to gather each week. You're always welcome, whether you come solo or with friends - the vibes are communal and thoughtful. ​ Our venue is in Prospect Heights between Bergen and Carlton and we'll send the exact address and buzzer upon rsvp.

​This week we'll be joined by Olio member Pilar to construct conversation cards about the possibility of other worlds and societies. We'll have prompts that get us thinking about alternatives instead of focusing on problems. Ideas on how to be together in the best of ways - one part sci-fi, one part hope, one part youthful creativity - and the last part is whatever YOU bring to the space :)

​All are welcome! We'll create the conversation cards so all you have to do it show up, be open, and surrender to the Olio process of making new connections <3

​What to expect:

​8-9pm: This is the time to arrive, get settled, and order a first round or two.

​9-10pm: This hour will be facilitated with a new conversation prompt every 10 minutes based on our theme, giving you a chance to meet all the lovely folks in the room.

​10-11pm: Free flowing hang out time

​11pm: Get those numbers! You don't have to go home, but you've gotta let us close down the bar because some of us have school on Saturday morning. You've got new crushes and new friends, and you're riding the high of creating new community. We'll see you next week!

​​In a community effort against the isolation and political nihilism we can sometimes feel in this city, custom-made conversation cards on communal tables invite guests to explore culture, creativity, and connection with strangers at our social club/wine bar.

​​We dream of a phone-less bar. We won't tell you to put it away but our hope is that the vibe will be so good, you won't even remember you have an instagram.
