Safe & Ethical AI Vienna - First Social Meetup

​We are starting a Safe AI Vienna community and this is our first meetup! 

​Safe AI Vienna is a cross-disciplinary community of professionals from academia, industry and policy who work on, think about and care deeply about the risks posed by AI, be it ethical, societal, psychological or existential ones. 

​The idea is simple: Vienna has people working on these questions, and they don't necessarily know each other yet. This first meetup is a chance to change that — to find out who's here, what they're doing and to get to know each other in person. 

​No talks and no strict agenda – just drinks, a little bit of introductions and a lot of interesting discussions. In the future, we're planning to alternate between social evenings and workshop-like events.

​The vision for Safe AI Vienna is to be:

• ​A cross-disciplinary community spanning research, industry, and policy

• ​A space to exchange ideas and foster collaborations

• ​A way to stay connected to the local and international AI safety landscape and share knowledge and updates about the events and opportunities.

• ​A push for Vienna to be a little more  forward looking and present in AI safety global scene
