We're playing Sardines in Downtown SF!

What?

Sardines (noun): a party game in which one player hides while the others search; when a player finds the hider, they quietly join them in the hiding place, and the last player to find the group becomes the next hider.

Sardines in SF (noun): a large-scale experiential variant of the party game Sardines, played across three contiguous city blocks in Downtown San Francisco, with minor rule modifications to accommodate the expanded play area and large participant count.

Where: The Yerba Buena Gardens in Downtown SF
When: Saturday, Jan 31st, 1PM
Who: Anyone who wants to make friends and have fun! Participation especially encouraged for nerds, founders, creatives, policy wonks, hackers, and individuals with P(Doom) ≥ 0.33.

The Game Area:

Rules:

  • All players will be wearing a wristband identifying themselves as a player of the game. The original hider will be wearing a silly hat so as to be easily identifiable.

  • At the start of the game, the hider has 10 minutes to select a hiding spot.

  • Every 10 minutes, the hiding players must change hiding locations. The new location must be within a different city block. The new location will be selected by the original hider.

  • When hiding players are switching locations, they may be spotted and joined by seeking players.

  • All hiding players must be within 3 feet of each other at all times.
