Techgirls: Unlocking the Power of Data

​Data engineering is key to helping organizations unlock the full potential of their data. This session provides a practical introduction to Data Engineering on Databricks.

​Vitalija Bartusevičiūtė will begin by demystifying the role of a data engineer – exploring what they do and why their work is essential in modern data-driven environments. Then, she'll take a hands-on look at how you can get started with the Databricks platform already today. Today Databricks makes it easy to begin your data engineering journey without the need for complex setups or advanced tooling.

After the introduction to what Databricks is and what data engineers do, Michelle Evjen Halvorsen will take the discussion from theory to practice. She’ll walk through concrete use cases showing how Databricks is applied to real business scenarios, as well as highlighting some key data governance considerations.
