UI Visual Judgment in the Age of AI
ininin – UI Visual Judgment in the Age of AI
Workshop by Amando Nacher
AI tools can generate UI in seconds. But good interface design still depends on something AI struggles with: visual judgment.
Hierarchy, spacing rhythm, density, alignment, and emotional tone are subtle qualities that separate an acceptable interface from a refined one. As AI speeds up production, designers increasingly act as editors and creative directors of generated UI.
In this hands-on session we train exactly that skill.
Participants work in small groups to analyze interfaces, diagnose visual issues, and refine AI-generated UI under time constraints.
What you’ll practice
🔹 Diagnosing visual hierarchy, spacing, and balance
🔹 Recognizing subtle UI quality differences
🔹 Critiquing and improving AI-generated designs
🔹 Using a simple framework to evaluate interface quality
Workshop structure
🔹 10 min – Context: UI design in the age of AI
🔹 60 min – Interactive visual diagnosis & refinement exercises
🔹 10 min – Shared insights & reflection
🔹 Afterwards – Networking with drinks
This session is ideal for product designers, UX/UI designers, and design students who want to sharpen their visual taste and refinement skills.
Hosted by Johannes Schweig & Michael Martens as part of the ininin interactive workshop series.
