Welcome to the inaugural gathering of Booked, Busy & Buttered — San Francisco's newest book club for people who want to read more, cook more, and meet people who actually finish the book.
Why we started this club
We're building this for people like us — readers who want to be more literate across different genres instead of doom-scrolling the same five topics, and home cooks who have a kitchen but rarely use it past reheating leftovers. Every meet-up, we read together and we cook together. You bring a homemade dish, we swap recipes, and we leave with both a new book recommendation and a new go-to recipe.
What to expect tonight (6–8 PM)
6:00–6:30 — Gossip Hour 💅 Icebreakers, introductions, low-stakes mingling. Come meet your future book bestie.
6:30–7:00 — Meet the Founders & The Vision Who we are, why we built this, and what makes BB&B different from every other book club.
7:00–7:30 — Club Structure & Genre Rotation How we're picking books, the monthly genre cycle, and how the cooking exchange works.
7:30–8:00 — Pick Our First Book 📖 Group vote on the first read. Come with suggestions.
Going forward
📚 One book per month, rotating genres so we're all reading outside our comfort zone
🥐 Two meet-ups per month, weekend mornings, where everyone brings a homemade dish to share
🔄 Recipe + book exchange culture — leave every meet-up with something new to read and something new to cook
