Satellites, Soil & Scope 3: Tracking the Data Trail of a Sustainable Product
Environmental data is everywhere in food and ag supply chains: satellite imagery flagging deforestation risk & LUC emissions, field level outcomes from regenerative agriculture, emissions factors feeding a carbon ledger. But what happens next? This session follows the trail as an agricultural commodity becomes an ingredient, then becomes a product, and then is consumed, led by practitioners in each phase of the journey that are focused on identifying opportunities to improve climate and nature metrics and the activities necessary to actualize those improvements.
Satelligence brings the remote-sensing lens, HowGood the product carbon footprint layer, and Sweep the corporate accounting layer. Emily Kunen, Sr Director of Sustainable Agriculture at PepsiCo, will share a brand perspective on data solutions, pitfalls to watch out for, that a global food & beverage brand considers and executes to strive for increasingly sustainable products to eat and drink. This is less of a panel, and more of a forum for sharing triumphs, failures and learnings. Please plan to contribute your 'lived' experiences, so we all come away prepared to take our respective next steps in the journey!
