[AI Week] Fireside Chat: How AI is speeding up breakthroughs in cancer research
What happens when the country's leading cancer centers stop guarding their data and start learning from it together? On AI Frontier Day, Brian M. Bot joins Skillsheet's Aniket Naravanekar for a fireside chat on the Cancer AI Alliance (CAIA). CAIA brings together four comprehensive cancer centers (Dana-Farber, Fred Hutch, Johns Hopkins and Memorial Sloan Kettering) with industry partners including AWS, Deloitte, Google, Microsoft and NVIDIA. Its goal is to use federated learning to speed up breakthroughs in cancer research and care without moving patient data.
What you'll learn
How federated learning lets institutions train AI models together while each keeps its own sensitive patient data
What it takes to coordinate competing cancer centers and big tech partners around a single mission
Where AI is already changing cancer research, and what still has to be solved on data, legal and regulatory fronts
What founders and builders can take from CAIA about responsible AI in high-stakes domains
