Past the Buzzwords: What Makes Agents Work On Your Data
Everyone is talking about agents. We're hosting a night where we move past the buzzwords and talk about what you actually need to know to get value out of agents in your organization.
Join us for an exciting talk night at MotherDuck in Seattle's Eastlake neighborhood! Food and beverages will be provided.
Agenda:
6:00–6:20 PM: Doors open/networking
6:20–6:30 PM: Opening remarks
6:30–6:50 PM: Talk #1: It's All About The Context Layer
Speaker: Bev Turnbaugh, Customer Engineer, MotherDuck
Description: You may be familiar with the agentic hope-to-despair cycle: you unleash agents on your data, then recoil as they burn tokens and hallucinate. Bev will talk through the context layer, and why arming your agents with context is the most important thing you can do to cut costs and improve accuracy. You'll leave knowing what belongs in a context layer and how to start building one against your own data.
6:55–7:15 PM: Talk #2: You Need Agentic Evals
Speaker: Jacob Matson, Developer Advocate, MotherDuck
Description: New models seem to arrive weekly, but how do you know whether they work for your organization? Jacob will walk through building practical evaluations for the models powering your analytics. You'll leave with a clearer understanding of how to run an eval and how context, data models, and workflows shape performance.
7:15–7:30 PM: Closing remarks and mingling
