​In August we asked what we wanted this school year to feel like. The year has its own opinions.

​ED + AI is back in the room with educators, students, parents, youth workers, builders, and curious neighbours, one month into the thing we spent the summer preparing for.

​A month in, the plan has met the students.

​Whatever your building decided about AI over the summer, it has now survived four weeks of contact with real classrooms. Some of it is holding. Some of it is being interpreted three different ways by three different people down the same hallway. Some of it quietly stopped being followed in week two.

​That gap between the policy and the practice is the most useful thing any of us have right now, and almost nobody is comparing notes on it.

​So bring what actually happened.

​Bring the rule that turned out to be unenforceable. Bring the assignment that worked better than you expected. Bring the student question you did not have an answer for. Bring the parent email you are still thinking about.

​We are not here to decide who got it right. We are here to find out what is really going on in BC classrooms and community learning spaces, while it is still early enough to change something.

​The questions on the table:

• ​Which AI guideline in your building is being read three different ways?

• ​What did students start doing in week two that nobody planned for?

• ​What is the workload actually like now, honestly?

• ​What conversation with a parent went better than you expected, and why?

• ​What did you try that you would tell someone else to copy?

• ​What are you still avoiding because you do not know where to start?

​This is not a policy seminar and it is not a product pitch. It is a community kitchen for the people living the transition in real time.

​Who ED + AI is

​ED + AI is a monthly AI and education gathering hosted with big love by Ethọ́s Lab × BC + AI.

​We are here to weave practical tools with ethical guardrails so classrooms, after-school programs, community labs, and learning spaces can adapt without losing the human core: relationships, curiosity, confidence, care, and agency.

​Educators (K to 12 and post-secondary), students, parents and caregivers, youth-program leads, librarians, mentors, researchers, artists, designers, EdTech builders, and all curious neighbours welcome.

​If you see learning as public infrastructure and teaching as a creative act, you are home.
