Most AI sessions explain. This one makes you do.
In 90 minutes you build seven things on your own laptop, on free accounts, and the last one is an AI agent you wrote in Python that you take back to work:
1. A locked-down account: your AI privacy settings set on purpose, plus a never-paste card.
2. A standing brief and your first skill file: a Claude Project with your own instructions and a real document, plus a five-line SKILL.md for one task in your job.
3. A grounded notebook: NotebookLM with your own PDF, citations you clicked, and one question it correctly refused to invent.
4. A model shortlist: two models picked for your own task from the places the industry uses to compare them.
5. A connected tool: Google Drive or Calendar plugged into Claude through MCP, the approval prompt you read, and the safety card that says what never to connect.
6. Your own AI agent: about sixty lines of plain Python in Google Colab on a free model. It reads a file, uses a calculator, drafts a summary, and asks you before it sends anything. You edit it for your own task and score it.
7. The kit: every lab card, the script, the Colab steps and a one-week plan to put the agent to work.
On the way you will understand how an LLM works, why it is confidently wrong and how to check it, how a prompt should be written, what a system prompt and an Agent Skill are, what RAG and MCP are by using them, how to find and choose a model, what the agent loop is, prompt injection, what an eval is, and where a human must stay in the loop.
**Who it is for**
Graduates, early-career professionals, office workers in any function, junior developers, and anyone who uses ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini and wants to build with it. No prior coding: the build is copy, paste, run and edit one line.
**What you take home**
The AI at Work Kit (seven pages: checklist, lab cards, brief and skill templates, never-paste and trifecta cards, the agent script with plain-English notes, Colab steps, eval card, one-week plan), the slides, and a certificate of participation. Sent by email after the session. This is a live, hands-on session; it is not recorded.
**Before the session (20 minutes, the day before)**
A Google account signed into Gemini, NotebookLM and Colab · free Claude.ai and ChatGPT accounts · a free OpenRouter account with one API key (no card) · two non-confidential PDFs · charger and phone hotspot. The full checklist comes with your confirmation email.
**Format**
90 minutes live on Zoom · six explain-then-do cycles · seven labs on your laptop · a 20-minute agent build · exit check. Login required to join; the session is watermarked.
