OKC August Professional Development Event
Join us on August 27th at 6:00 PM for a virtual professional development session called Seven Habits for Highly Accessible Content.
Accessibility can feel complicated, but a few small habits built into your everyday workflow can make a bigger impact than you might expect. In this session, we'll explore seven role-agnostic habits that anyone on a tech team can adopt, from writing descriptive link text to running a quick color contrast check before hitting publish. You don't need to be an accessibility specialist to make a difference; you just need to be more intentional when you're making any kind of digital content. Walk away with one habit you can start this week.
This session will be presented by Lyssa Prince, a Digital Accessibility Specialist at WebAIM who loves making digital accessibility less intimidating and a lot more approachable. She specializes in training and creating resources that help people go from overwhelmed to empowered. With a Master's in Library and Information Studies from the University of Oklahoma, she has a knack for connecting people with the information they need, a perfect foundation for helping all kinds of creators make their digital work accessible. An IAAP Certified Professional of Web Accessibility (CPWA) and a DHS Trusted Tester, Lyssa is on a mission to help everyone feel like they can actually do this!
