You already understand software development concepts, and you are ready to bring your ideas to life. Now you need the skills to turn those ideas into working software and useful automations whenever you decide it is time to build. AI-assisted coding now enables teams to build real apps, internal tools, and workflow automations through structured conversations with AI. Learning best practices and strong prompting techniques is the new essential skill for modern builders and operators.

Outcomes

  • Follow proven development practices to ensure AI-generated code remains reliable and maintainable.

  • Make your application or automation easier to deploy with Docker.

  • Prevent accidental breaking changes and keep your code safe using Git and GitHub.

What You Will Build

  • A repeatable workflow for planning, building, testing, and improving code with AI.

  • Prompt patterns and review habits that help you get better coding results.

  • A practical app, internal tool, or automation you can continue improving after the workshop.

  • A competitive market analysis of your competitors to support product positioning and planning.

  • Greater confidence using AI to support technical work without relying on one platform.

  • A digital certificate of completion after presenting your final project.

Who This Is For

  • Builders who want to move faster with AI-assisted coding workflows.

  • Operators looking to create internal tools, apps, and automations.

  • Consultants who want to prototype solutions for client and internal work.

  • IT professionals are exploring practical ways to use AI for coding and technical problem-solving.

  • Aspiring developers who want guided practice in building with AI.

This is a 4-week course that meets on Thursdays. April 2 - April 23, 2026, from 10:00 AM PT to 12:00 PM PT. See the full schedule at the end of this description.

This event is hosted by Cambermast in partnership with TechLAB Innovation Center LLC. If you want more details, please visit this link: https://www.cambermast.com/events/ai-workshop-code-and-automate-with-ai-april-2026

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need prior AI experience to join?

Yes, some prior AI experience is recommended for this workshop. It is designed for builders, operators, consultants, IT professionals, and aspiring developers who already want to use AI to build and improve practical apps and automations.

What do I need before the workshop starts?

Complete the full setup guide before Week 1. You should have Visual Studio Code, a Codex or Claude extension, Git, GitHub, Docker Desktop, and a paid Claude or ChatGPT account ready to use. You should also have a laptop, a stable internet connection, and a project idea or workflow you want to turn into a practical app or automation.

Do I need prior coding experience to join?

No formal developer background is required. However, this workshop is designed for semi-technical participants, including IT professionals, aspiring developers, and people who want guided practice building practical apps or automations.

Is this workshop tied to one coding product or platform?

Yes. You must have a paid ChatGPT or Claude account.

What kinds of projects can I build or automate during the cohort?

Most participants build a practical app, internal tool, or workflow automation tied to work they already care about. That could include an operations dashboard, intake form, workflow helper, internal utility, or another lightweight product you want to keep improving after the workshop.

Will we cover Git, GitHub, and Docker?

Yes. Week 2 introduces Git and GitHub for version control and collaboration, plus Docker for creating a consistent development environment. The goal is practical familiarity, so you can keep improving your app with a more professional workflow.

How does the capstone project work?

You will shape your capstone as the workshop progresses, using the exercises and weekly feedback to improve it over time. In Week 4, you finalize the project, present what you built, and leave with clear next steps for continuing development after the cohort ends.

Will we use AI planning features to make the app more robust?

Yes. In Week 3, the workshop focuses on using AI planning features to break larger goals into manageable steps, improve the structure of your app or automation, and make the project easier to extend, test, and maintain.
