About Event

If you’re building, backing, or working in robotics in the public sector —from early prototypes to real-world deployment—come spend part of your day at STATION DC between 10 am and 12 pm.

Agenda:

10 am — 11 am: Roundtable Discussion hosted by Missy Cummings, Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at George Mason University and directs the Mason Responsible AI program as well as the Mason Autonomy and Robotics Center (MARC).. A naval officer and military pilot from 1988-1999, she was one of the U.S. Navy's first female fighter pilots.

She is an American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics fellow and a member of the Virginia Academy for Science, Engineering and Mathematics. Her research interests include the application of artificial intelligence in safety-critical systems, assured autonomy, human-systems engineering, and the ethical and social impact of technology.

11 am — 12 pm: Networking

You’ll likely run into founders, engineers, investors, and public sector leaders working across areas like:

  • Robotics Platforms & Hardware: mobile robots, manipulators, sensors, embedded systems, system integration

  • Autonomy & AI: computer vision, navigation, motion planning, reinforcement learning, human–robot interaction

  • Manufacturing & Go-to-Market: rapid prototyping, supply chains, cost-downs, scaling production, pilot programs

  • Commercial Use Cases: logistics, warehousing, inspection, healthcare, transportation, agriculture, construction, public safety

  • Defense & Dual-Use: deployable robotic systems, autonomy for contested environments, secure platforms

  • Policy & Deployment: safety, certification, regulatory pathways, customer adoption, public-private partnerships

We’ll have coffee, fast Wi-Fi, flexible workspace, conference rooms, and a community of people actively turning robotics into real businesses.

Drop in to work, meet potential collaborators or customers, swap notes on what’s actually working, or just plug into the robotics startup ecosystem.

No membership required. Invite your friends.
