Artist Talk｜Liuting‘s Ink Girls From Silent To Voice 刘亭的水墨女孩：被看见的自我

​Are their downcast eyes a moment of reflection, or an unspoken act of defiance?Are they merely being observed, or are they beginning to speak?

​她们低垂的眼睑，是沉思，还是无声的抵抗？她们的存在，是被观看，还是正在开口言说？

​In Liu Ting’s ink paintings, girls are no longer passive symbols of grace and stillness. Instead, they emerge as individuals carrying emotions, struggles, and identities. Moving beyond traditional portrayals, her works reconstruct the feminine narrative—one brushstroke at a time.

​在刘亭的笔下，传统水墨中的女性不再只是柔美与静谧的象征，而是承载复杂情感与真实生命体验的个体。从“被塑造”到“被看见”，她们挣脱符号化的束缚，在宣纸上诉说着身份、成长、规训与抗争。

​In conjunction with Prestige Art Gallery ongoing contemporary ink exhibition, we have specially invited artist Liu Ting to Singapore. Gallery Owner Audrey Zhang will engage a dialogue with Artist Liu Ting to explore:
