Fireside Chat w/ David Perry, Serial Founder & $380M Sony Exit

​Manifest at UCI is excited to host a fireside chat with David Perry, serial founder and co-founder of Gaikai and Carro.

​With over 30 years of experience building companies, David is a pioneer at the intersection of technology, gaming, and e-commerce. He began developing video games at 15 and went on to found Shiny Entertainment, working with brands like Disney, McDonald’s, and Warner Bros. He later co-founded Gaikai, the cloud game streaming company that held foundational patents in the space. Sony acquired it for $380M, and its technology is now core to the PlayStation platform.

​Most recently, David founded Carro in 2017, an e-commerce partnership network that now connects 30,000+ Shopify brands and reaches over 320 million visitors a month. He led the company as CEO through 2024 and is now building his next venture.

​Along the way, David has sold companies to both Interplay and Sony and received an honorary doctorate from Queen’s University Belfast in 2008 for his services to the gaming industry. Few founders have built, scaled, and exited across as many industries, which makes this a rare chance to hear how he spots opportunities, navigates acquisitions, and reinvents himself after a big exit.
