About Event

The Digital Platforms Summit is CERRE’s flagship annual conference on the regulation and governance of digital platforms, bringing together leading policymakers, regulators, industry representatives, academics and civil society to examine the most important questions shaping Europe’s digital markets.

The Summit will take place at a moment when new technological and political developments are reshaping platform regulation. The 2027 Summit will examine how well equipped Europe’s digital rulebook is for the next generation of platform technologies, business models, and social challenges – and how pressure to manage and adapt to these changes can be reconciled with the EU’s competitiveness objectives. The event will explore:

  • How agentic AI is challenging the assumptions underlying key parts of European law – from competition policy, consumer law, privacy and cybersecurity rules, to sustainability requirements – and how the EU should adapt its rules in response;

  • How to enhance the operation of the Digital Markets Act by improving regulatory dialogue, cross-regulator collaboration, cross-jurisdictional learning, and improving private enforcement of the law;

  • Evaluating and assessing implementation of the Digital Services Act, particularly as its rules could soon be supplemented by the EU Kids Act and the Digital Fairness Act.
