Discovery Journaling: Turn Chaos into Clarity
What do you do when you're torn? Besides play Torn by Natalie Imbruglia?
In this workshop, Cory will guide you through Discovery Journaling, a journaling process Cory invented, to help make any decision and sort out mixed feelings with clarity and unity.
Discovery Journaling is a type of inquiry. It allows us to easily dialogue with the sometimes opposing parts of ourselves ("yes, I want this — but also part of me doesn't want this, and part of me is judging myself for wanting this") and come to clarity.
In Song of Myself, Walt Whitman wrote, "I contain multitudes." We all do.
We don't need to silence any part of ourselves. Or be afraid of any voice in our heads.
With this method, we can listen to all parts of ourselves without judgement and find a unified decision or perspective. And build trust in yourself, freshly seeing that you make sense, even when you're torn.
TAKEAWAY
You will leave with a new journaling method for working with your feelings/thoughts that you can use any time you feel angsty, torn, confused, chaotic, overwhelmed, anxious, angry, ashamed, or deflated.

We can’t talk our way into empowerment: we need practice.

We need to build resilience communally, not just individually.
