Quantum HPC Workshop: Build Your First Hybrid Computing System
Learn how quantum simulations are executed in a modern high-performance computing (HPC) environment using Slurm and PennyLane Lightning-Kokkos.
In this live, hands-on workshop, you’ll build a practical Quantum-HPC workflow from the ground up.
You’ll learn how HPC systems allocate computing resources, how Slurm schedules computational jobs, and how quantum simulations can be executed using high-performance computing resources.
Instead of simply running a quantum circuit inside a notebook, you’ll see how a simulation becomes an actual HPC workload — from requesting resources and submitting a job to monitoring execution and collecting results.
What You'll Learn
Quantum-HPC architecture
Compute nodes, CPUs, cores, threads, and clusters
How Slurm schedules HPC workloads
Using
sbatch, srun, andsqueueWriting and submitting Slurm job scripts
Building quantum circuits with PennyLane
High-performance simulation with PennyLane Lightning-Kokkos
Running quantum simulations as scheduled HPC jobs
Monitoring jobs and retrieving results
Benchmarking quantum simulation workloads
Hands-On Workflow
Quantum Circuit → Lightning-Kokkos → Slurm → HPC Compute Resources → Results
By the end of the workshop, you’ll understand how to take a quantum simulation from Python code to a scheduled HPC workload.
🎟️ Workshop Admission — FREE
The complete live workshop is free to attend.
📓 Optional Quantum-HPC Resource Package — $30
Participants who want to continue experimenting after the workshop can purchase an optional resource package containing:
Fully annotated Quantum-HPC coding notebooks
Ready-to-use Slurm job scripts
PennyLane Lightning-Kokkos examples
Installation and environment setup guide
Quantum simulation benchmarking exercises
Additional hands-on practice examples
The resource package is completely optional and is not required to participate in the workshop.
All attendees receive a SemperKite Quantum Labs Certificate of Completion.
Basic Python and introductory quantum-computing knowledge are helpful, but no previous HPC experience is required.
Presented independently by SemperKite Quantum Labs.
